Antennarius ocellatus (Ocellated frogfish) is the largest frogfish (38cm) but lives only in the West Atlantic (Caribbean). A frogfish with very large ocelli.

Antennarius ocellatus (Ocellus Anglerfisch, Ozellen-Anglerfisch) ist mit 38cm der grösste Anglerfisch aber kommt nur im Westatlantik (Karibik) vor. Ein Anglerfisch mit sehr grossen Ocelli.

Illicium and Esca: Illicium (rod) equal or shorter than 2nd spine. Esca (lure, bait) with fleshy filaments. Additional Characteristics: 3 large black ocelli, encircled by a lightly pigmented ring. Second and third dorsal spine curved posterior. More Information: Antennarius ocellatus (Ocellated frogfish) belongs to the Antennarius occellatus group and is closely related to Antennarius senegalensis. Link to fishbase / Pietsch & Grobecker p.131 Can be confused with: Antennarius multiocellatus looks similar but a very long illicium and more ocelli.		Illicium und Esca: Illicium (Angel, Rute) gleich lang oder kürzer als 2. Stachelstrahl. Mit filamentartiger Esca (Köder). Weitere Merkmale: Drei ausgeprägte Ocelli (Augenflecken) mit einem helleren Band umrahmt. Zweiter und dritter Flossenstrahl gegen hinten gebeugt. Zusatzinformationen: Antennarius ocellatus (Ocellus Anglerfisch, Ozellen-Anglerfisch) gehört zur Antennarius ocellatus Gruppe und ist nahe mit Antennarius senegalensis verwandt.
