A difficult identification - see details. Baby frogfishes are usually very difficult to identify. It was lucky that the rod and lure of this baby frogfish is visible, so it was possible to identify it. The juveniles of the warty frogfish look very similar but have more blue in the tail (see this photo).

Eine schwierige Identifikation - siehe Details. Es war ein Riesenglück, dass auf diesem Foto auch die Angel und der Köder zu sehen sind, denn Baby-Anglerfische sind allgemein sehr schwierig zu bestimmen. So sieht der juvenile Warzen-Anglerfisch sehr ähnlich aus, hat jedoch mehr blau im Schwanz (siehe dieses Fotos)

I identified all frogfishes (anglerfishes) to my best knowledge. Frogfishes are specially difficult to identify (see tips for identification) so mistakes are possible of course! Please write to me, if you have any questions. Latin names according to the ITIS Standard Report and Fishbase.
