The clown (or warty) frogfish on the upper image is only about 6cm large and has quite a lot of warts. On the lower photo you can see the specially shaped second dorsal spine with the membrane. Please look at the long rod and lure (you can see the redish lure = esca) it can wave up and down.
These frogfishes stay a long time nearly immobile but are waving the lure. I loved to just float in the water close by and observe them!

Der Warzen-Anglerfisch auf dem oberen Foto ist nur etwa 6cm gross. Auf diesem Foto sind die Warzen speziell gut zu sehen. Auf dem unteren Foto ist die Membrane zwischen dem zweiten Flossenstrahl und dem Rücken gut zu erkennen. Hier sieht man auch die Angel mit dem rötlichen Köder.
Diese Anglerfische sitzen oft regungslos auf Schwämmen und bewegen nur ihre Angel. Da kann man im Wasser schweben und sie in aller Ruhe beobachten..
