Please notice the "beard" (another example) and the "coins". I have seen the coinbearing frogfish only at night and then they disappear fast, if disturbed by the light. They like to perch at the same places every night so once you know where to look you find them again. My record was 10 frogfish during one nightdive at the El Dorado housereef!!

Bitte beachte den "Bart" und die Flecken, welche auf englisch Münzen genannt werden. Diese Anglerfisch-Art ist meistens nur nachts zu sehen, bei Tag versteckt er sich zwischen Korallen oder Schwämmen. Wenn man sie einmal findet, so findet man sie oft am gleichen Ort wieder - mein Rekord im El Dorado Hausriff waren 10 Anglerfische während eines Nachttauchgangs!

Habitat: lagoons and seaward reefs from 0-25m. Likes to hide in crevices.
Range: East Africa to Fiji, Taiwan to Australia
